"Car parking"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

Anything else?

I wish to ask if there are any concessionary prices for peoeple who are unable to locate to a disabled parking space -i.e. always all occupied as we are parking to attend the transplant unit and after touring around other disabled spots we are still unable to locate on one. We have no fixed time once we arrive at the transplant unit so therefore we have to wait until various other patients are attended to and more often or not we are always in for a fiver at a time and as we are pensioners - is there a concessionary discount for us. we await with interest.....Mr David Jones

Thank you for posting your enquiry on the NHS Choices Website.

In answer to your question, there is a car park dedicated for the use of visitors to the Heart Transplant Centre. It is located close to the Heart Transplant Centre.

Unfortunately staff sometimes use this car park to park their vehicles. Our security are actively issuing parking charge notices in this area as we realise staff parking on this car park is preventing parking for visitors.

Blue Badge, disabled drivers are encouraged to use this area and we have Pay and Display on the car park. Concessions for parking are available as a £13 ticket can be purchased for one week's parking. This ticket can be can be obtained via security, their office is near the central out-patients area.

You can contact security staff from within the hospital and staff will provide their telephone extension number.

Kind regards
