"Poor diagnostic ability"

About: St James's University Hospital

Anything else?

Doctors and consultants take information and fail to engage in a meaningful discussion with the patient -which would allow for easier diagnosis. The lack of feedback from them is a barrier to earlier diagnosis in that other symptoms or symptoms that have come and gone or symptom that were not known to be related to the disease or condition are denied expression. In my situation a simple search on Google provided a diagnosis that evaded the doctors for several weeks.

Dear Anonymous

We are sorry that you feel our staff didn't communicate with you in a meaningful way. We always strive to offer everyone a high quality experience and take it very seriously when we get it wrong. If you would like to discuss the issues in person, and confidentially, you can contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (P.A.L.S) on 0113 2067168 or email patient.relations@leedsth.nhs.uk We hope you will feel able to do this so you feel more reassured for the future.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to post your comments - we appreciate your feedback.

With kind regards
