My mother had treatment at the hospital after suffering worrying symptoms with her digestion. She was very quickly seen by one of the country's top gastro consultants, Dr Colin Ainley, who two days after her first consultation carried out an endoscopy procedure to check everything out thoroughly. Thankfully he was able to rule out anything serious, which given her age and symptoms was a major concern, and a diagnosis and plan of action was given immediately - within just a couple of days, we had complete piece of mind

Although this was a day case, she was checked into her own private room with ensuite and sky tv (I had one done at a private hospital in Harley Street and was given a bed behind a curtain in a big shared room, it was like going cattle class). The London Independent is like going first class - her care throughoutwas excellent and very professional - I felt very comfortable because I knew that I was in a hospital with all the best back-up because I know they do heart surgery and all the complex stuff. The staff and consultants there seem to be of a much higher calibre than in some of the little l private hospitals locally.
