"Missing appointments and numbers out of order"

About: Birmingham Dental Hospital

Anything else?

I have a problem that needs regular review after referral from my dentist, and I am waiting for my next appointment which was due in November and has never arrived. It is nigh on impossible to contact anyone, I have been given a list of different numbers. Entertainingly 1 of these numbers was out of order, 2 are no longer in use, and I have been given another couple for me "to try".

The service I have received on my visits to the hospital have been fine, fairly moody staff on the reception desks on floor 2 and in x-ray but they are busy and the students and other dental staff have been very friendly and professional... but... please do not tell me that I have a growth in my jaw and it needs to be regularly checked 'in case it has grown or is dangerous', and then leave me to find it impossible to speak to someone and get an appointment that I was told would come through automatically. I did at least today manage to leave an answerphone message. Whether or not that will mean the process for booking an appointment for me starts or not I have no way of knowing. I shall carry on trying to get through to someone I suppose... I completely understand that an appointment can be late in a busy hospital, what's frustrating is the fact that you dial so many numbers and no-one can do something as simple as make a routine appointment for you.
