What I liked

The staff in this department are all caring, helpful and friendly. The specialist care provided by the Rheumatology team is of the very highest standard. My daughter has been attending the clinic for 12 years, since she was 15. Fortunately, she has been under the excellent care of the same consultant the entire time. Her condition is regularly reviewed, and much consideration given to the best course of treatment. Her consultant is very careful to consider her whole medical condition, as he is aware that other seemingly unconnected symptoms could be linked to her arthritis. I have always felt very positive about the care we have received over the years, and am confident that my daughter has benefited from the best treatment available.

What could be improved

The only thing I would like to see changed is the waiting time for an appointment, and more support for this fine team, please.

Anything else?

If this department were closed down, it would be a tragedy for the many patients who depend on it. Having to adapt to a new team, in a less personal environment, would have a detrimental effect on the progress of its many patients. Most importantly, the top-class expertise and high standards of care which we benefit from at CMH cannot be replaced.
