"Castle Hill Pain Clinic and Infusions"

(as a carer),

My wife was discharged from the pain clinic and told she will get no more pain infusions and that she would have to go for re-assessment in the community, why this could not have been done at Castle Hill?

My wife used to get pain infusions every 3 weeks and it improved her quality of life, even though some crazy survey nobody as seen makes out otherwise and is used to justify the shocking way she and others have been treated, now her quality of life has gone down along with her having a suicide attempt because of the pain etc.

Due to my disgust at the way you have treated patients I set up a facebook page, as well as posting on the HDM site.

It does not matter how this is dressed up, I believe the people responsible for this decision have be unjust and unprofessional.

Patients receiving pain management treatment in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire are currently going through a review process with the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Pain Service.

As part of this review patients who receive infusion therapy are being referred from the service back to their GP for re-assessment and, if appropriate, referral to a new community pain service. Please be reassured that this group of patients is being treated as a priority.

Patients with any further concerns can discuss these with their GP who has been made aware of the Exceptional Treatment process that will be used for patients where the recommended ongoing treatment is infusion therapy.

We would be happy to discuss this process with patients in more detail if they wish via the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01482 344616.
