"Efficient, professional, very caring treatment..."

About: Torbay Hospital

What I liked

My wife was taken ill at Orestone Manor immedialtely after our meal at Orestone Manor on New Year's Eve. We would just like to thank the ambulance crew and the medical staff in A&E for their caring and most efficient attention on what must be a difficult evening for them all. It was not the New Year celebration we had anticipated, but the treatment we received was exemplary and we send our best wishes to all the staff (despite the lack of coffee - the duty doctor might understand this!).

(Note on decisions as above are made as my wife was not always fully aware, and I therefore provided some detail on medical history, etc)

What could be improved

Available change for coffee machine during anti-social hours - entirely irrelevant to treatment received, but the subject of brief and light hearted conversation with duty doctor - this comment not to be taken seriously, please!!

Dear Mr Redman

We were really sorry to hear about your wife's illness on New Year's Eve, but very pleased to note the care and attention you both received from the ambulance crew and A&E staff. Staff do appreciate hearing about patients’ positive experiences and your feedback will be shared with those concerned (even the coffee comments!).

Thank you for taking the time to comment. We trust your wife is now fully recovered.
