"Feeling dizzy and not getting an answer"

I have been feeling dizzy since early September. Almost every week, I go to see a doctor at my medical centre, but all they do is just keep giving me medicines. I used to feel better but after sometime I started to feel worse, so I just stopped my medicines. I asked them to send me to hospital for some scans because I can't attend my lessons, I can't walk anywhere from my house, I feel dizzy and can't breath sometimes, and it's been now about 2 months. They are telling me I should get a letter but I haven't had anything yet. They also gave me a number to call to the hospital to ask them what's going on with my case, but in my opinion it can't take 2 months to wait for the hospital's reply, saying if they are going to do some scans for me or not. I think my GP should make a call to them and talk to them on the phone, not just send them emails!
