About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

(as a relative),

I recently had a second mastectomy after 14 years. My first mastectomy scar was from the start excellent and I was back to normal health after 2 months(without Radiotherapy).

It is almost 5 months later and I am still having problems due to an appalingly ugly scar which was done by an assistant surgeon. Do elderly patients now have to live with such scars??

May I also point out that I really feel that all the excellent careI recieved at the Jasmine Centre and at Weston Park Hospital was made harder because of the dreadful scar. What worries me was I just unlucky that day or is this now acceptable practice??

Thank you for your story. It sounds like you had a difficult time. If you would like to see videos of other patients talking about their experiences of breast cancer please click here .
