"telephone system is problematic to arrange warfarin blood samples"

About: Community Health Services / Phlebotomy

(as the patient),

Regarding nurses nothing but praise for warfarin. As regards to ringing to arrange Phlebotomist for a blood sample nobody seems to take responsibility to pass them on. Several times I have left my details as requested but had to ring again days later.

Dear Giant966,

Thank you for your comments.

The Phlebotomy administration team are striving to answer all telephone enquiries and requests in real time. At busy times this isn’t possible, therefore patients are advised to leave a message on the answer machine. The answer machine is also switched on a Friday afternoon as this service isn’t open over the weekends or of an evening. If there continues to be an ongoing problem, please don’t hesitate to contact the Phlebotomy team directly or telephone Patient Advice and Liaison Service on freephone 0800 073 0578/0151 244 3454.

Kind regards,
