What I liked
I was admitted to M1 ward on december 6th, i chose bolton hospital over my local hospital as i wanted to follow my consultant when she moved from salford royal to bolton, for a total hysterectomy. I was very anxious about coming into hospital but on arrival i was instantly put at ease all staff were friendly and jolly.
My care was exceptional and i was treated with dignity and respect. Theatre staff and doctors and porters were fantastic a very hard working team always smiling.
I never needed to press nurse call button as nurses were always on top of my pain and gave medication to keep me pain free, i was helped with washing and dressing and my water jug was constantly being refilled without me asking. I was made to feel welcome and all aspects of my care was explained.
The day after my surgery the recovery nurse came up to collect another patient and she came to see me and even remembered my name and asked how i was feeling.
Many thanks for a positive experience.
What could be improved
The only thing i can think of is more nurses on shifts to ease work load for the nursing as they work so hard all day and i think it would help these hard working dedicated nurses.
"fantastic ward with exceptional staff"
