"Would definitely visit again. Thank you!"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted to the maternity ward when my son was induced. I spent 3 days on a ward waiting for my son to decide to make an entrance. This ward was clean and I made friends with the nurses on here. They did their best to make sure you were comfortable, and settled and would stay with you if you were having trouble sleeping. You were monitored correctly and the facilities were kept clean. Two nurses who were exceptional throughout my visit and you should completely relax if you have them. They took time to read my birth plan and tried to accommodate as much as they possibly could for me. I desperately didn't want a c-section and they held of as long as they could before I had to be wheeled in. I have nothing but love and thanks for these ladies and its people like that who are a credit to the hospital. After my child was born, he had a few health issues which he still does but it was picked up, dealt with and was very efficient. There was another nurse on the ward after having my baby who was exceptional. She is lovely and was a great help adjusting to new parenthood.

What could be improved

When my baby was born he had health issues - I found he was taken off me a lot during visiting hours when I wanted to introduce him to my family and friends. He wasn't taken in a nice manner either. I think people who are dealing with the sick babies need to be a lot nicer and happier to put the new mums minds at rest.

During my stay one of the nurses broke my water (not one i mentioned) when I told her she refused to believe me and said it was normal 'this caused me and baby to catch an infection.

Anything else?

I would really appreciate if these nurses could be praised and told they are doing a brilliant job, because they really are!
