"he wants to detox again but is scared of getting ill"

About: Solent NHS Trust

(as a parent/guardian),

When my son detoxed from heroin in January he suffered (not for the first time after detox) a psychotic episode with paranoid schizophrenic symptoms.

In my opinion the mental health team in Portsmouth did not believe he was ill, at this time he was sent to prison for carrying a knife.

Released, he remained ill until July when he used heroin again and that cured his psychotic symptoms. Now he wants to detox again but is scared of getting ill.

What help is there for people like him?
