(as the patient),

I saw a wonderful nurse yesterday, Jane, who really listened to everything I had to say, who said how well I was looking after myself, who noticed how hard it is for me sometimes, who understood my frustration about not being able to use the local Council gym because they require a letter from my Dr to say I'm fit to exercise but the Dr has refused to write this letter for me (on advice from their trade organisation), who showed my husband how to help me put on my hosiery when I need help, who encouraged me to look into getting a rebounder (including demonstrating how to use one) - it's experimental work but she knows about it through her professional development work - who made me feel good about myself, and who said I could contact her again if I had any problems.

I'm a bit disappointed with the above response which reads like a corporate comms team, not the people who really helped me.

It would be great to have a response directly from them to know that they got my compliments.

The lymphoedema team has recently been passed your pleasing comments about our service.

I would like to thank you for the lovely comments you made about the service you received on your recent visit to the lymphoedema clinic at Moseley Hall Hospital.

We, as a team work very hard to try to understand and provide a holistic support to patients and realise how difficult lifestyle changes can be to manage. So thank you very much for acknowledging our professionalism in caring for you.
