What I liked
I was admitted to Ward 31, there I found that the Nurses, Doctors and Carer's were very approachable, friendly and caring. I was treated with a caring manner. My family were also made to feel welcome. This friendly attribute made my short stay as comfortable as possible. I could not fault this Ward at all.
What could be improved
After my surgery, I was admitted to a recovery short stay ward. There, I was comfortable, but, found that Carer's provided most of the care, example, I saw more Carer's than Nurses. The Nurses were extremely helpful, kind and caring, the Carer's were kind, but found that they (some) lacked enthusiasm. Some of the Carer's smiled frequently, whilst others appeared that they were at work and not providing a friendly face.
Anything else?
If all hospital staff made that extra effort to make patients feel at ease, like they did in Ward 31, then patients moral would greatly improve. A smile and a friendly nature goes a long way.
"Cared for by safe hands, by a caring team in Ward..."
