"Humiliated at DRI Diabetic Foot Ulcer clinic"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Diabetic medicine

(as the patient),

I was a patient at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary's Diabetic Foot Ulcer clinic in February of this year.

Whilst with the dietician and the diabetes Specialist Nurse (DSN), as part of the consultation, I gave a full description of the circumstances leading to the ulcers on my heels and my treatment of them prior to seeing my GP that morning. At one point the dietician grimaced as I described one particular part. This I saw as understandable and I admit I felt a little foolish.

Shortly afterwards, a second DSN entered and the dietician proceeded to loudly fill her in about my situation and all 3 started to laugh at my course of action. I felt totally humiliated and subsequently very angry, which spilled over into my consultation with the doctor and the podiatrist.
