"Extreamly distressing, appauling and..."

About: King George Hospital

What I liked

A porter saw me distressed in the corriedoor and was the only one in the hospital that came to help me get seen to.

He kept coming over to me to make sure that I was OK.

What could be improved

Absolutley everything from beggining to end.

ie; staffs attitude, doctors and nurses knowing what their talking about because they dont,

and try to get your staff to get a mop and bucket to clean up dry blood that I had to try an avoid to step on in the cubical I was put in.

I was also asked to do a urine sample in a pot and it was left there for an hour and a half on a dustbin lid in the toilet, where other people were using the it and could see my urine on full view. I told staff to remove it but they told me to leave it there which was disgusting and humiliating!! My dog gets better treatment in the PDSA we take her to!

I am in the process of writting a letter to my local MP as I became alot worse and I am now having to be treated by Holly House which is private and as I have no money, my parents who are pensioners, are having to pay for my treatments there.

Atleast now, I feel like a human and not cattle on a farm, thanks to Holly House and my parents!

Dear Ms Aresti,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns about your experience of the Emergency Department at King George Hospital.

I was very concerned to read about your experience and would appreciate the opportunity of looking into the points you have raised in more detail. It would be useful if you could provide some more details to enable an investigation to take place into these concerns.

Should you wish to discuss this matter further please contact a member of the Patient Advice & Liaison Services (PALS) on 01708 435454 or email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk

Yours sincerely,

Gary Etheridge

Deputy Director of Nursing
