"Excellent gynaecology department"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

What I liked

i was very apprehensive about visiting the Jessp wing having previously visited another gynae department in the county which was not a pleasant experience. However the nursing and the consultant were all excellent and very supportive. The proceedure was clearly explained and nurse was there to hold my hand throughout. Whilst the result of the examination and test mean I will need further proceedures I have total faith in the department and the care they give. An excellent team making a scary experience as easy a possible.

What could be improved

Pharmacy could not dispense my prescription for 1 hr as the pharmacist was out did mean that I was waiting around for a long time as I could not really walk across to the main building pharmacy.

Parking could be better again limited mobility makes it a long walk from the main carpark.

Thank you for your comments reagrding the treatment you received recently at the gynaecology department at The Jessop Hospital.

We always welcome feedback from patients regarding the service they have received from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust, as this enables us to provide the best quality of care we can. Positive feedback is always very welcome and encouraging for staff.

We have currently made changes to our pharmacy services on the site and have a community pharmacy available which should reduce delays for patients in getting their prescriptions.

In relation to our car parking services, we appreciate the difficulty in parking around the hospital and have put measures in place to ensure that those people with mobility issues are able to park and access services as easily as possible. If you woud like further information on this please do contact our Patient Services Team on 0114 271 2400 or pst@sth.nhs.uk.

Thank you once again.
