What I liked
From the time arrived I was treated with respect by cheerful helpful staff, if you are really ill this makes such a difference.
The food is of a good standard, considering how many people they have to feed, the quality of the “stew” type meals was amazing real flavour and good texture.
Care on the wards is delivered by brilliant staff who make you feel nothing is too much trouble, they cope well with the workload (which can be high) and even remain cheerful with the very awkward patients, they all managed to smile and joke with patients and really make sure that you get everything you need, sometimes if it is really busy they have to prioritise but that should be expected.
My Consultant is superb you could not ask for better care and attention than he provides on every visit ( unfortunately due to my condition I seem to stay in hospital regularly but visits are getting less frequent thanks to his care)
What could be improved
Like all UK Hospitals there appears to be a shortage of nursing staff, which means on busy days staff cannot always provide the instant attention they would like too.
No reflection on RDE just a general observation
Anything else?
Car parking can be a nightmare, there is very rarely a disable bay, and a busy time the normal car park is hell. Get there early so that you have to park
"The hospital offers a really high standard of care..."
