What I liked
To be able to leave .
What could be improved
Experienced docters on duty? & not just out of training? ..A bit more awareness to patients pain,& not jumping to conclusions if patient is not able to pin point exact pain location due to the severity of pain..
Anything else?
Normally very fit. (42.Non smoker), I self admitted myself at 2.10am on 11/12/12 with unbearable pain to lower/middle back & also crushing pain in front right of chest, making breathing very hardhence taking myself to a&e gasping for breath) x ray/bloodtests (was told my symptoms pointed to a virus) I was given a drip(antibotics) two pain killers & left untill 8.00am where I was told I had twisted a muscle in my back & maybe could not remember doing it?. I explained many years before I had broken some ribs,& the pain I was experiencing now was ten times worse than that so could not see how it could be a muscle strain.? I got the Im a doctor look &,told to go home & pop a painkiller they gave up into my rectum & I would be ok.This I did .The painkiller knocked me out.Awoke with pain more severe, thankfully my own doctor was able to see me in time & start treatingme for severe "pleurisy" which I hope has now been caught/diagnosed in time with no long term damage.. The reason for leaving this blog/comment is I have not been able to contact anyone from the trust to explain why it was not detected /treated or I was sent home still in severe pain with breathing problems...If someone from the trust is reading this please feel free to get in touch with me. As far as I am concerned if I have no long term damage, then that will be the end of.If not ,I really do love my lungs, take real good care of them,& someone will be held responsible if damage has occured due to lack of care.Ie go home, pop this in your bottom you have twisted a back muscle..It is reasonable to conclude that this site is monitored by the trust ,so you can except this as a formal complaint in black & white if I have any further problems with my lungs due to the care I recieved..
