What I liked

I was fortunate to see a doctor in the Pain management clinic who really took the time to understand my concerns regarding my long term back pain. They were very thorough in their assessment and questions which told me that I was being treated by someone who really was interested in my problem.

Every option was explained to me in full detail balancing the pros and cons of each when used in conjunction with my current medication. I must admit that I did not wish to go down the route of the morphine patches as I just could not face the side effects that this can produce. We agreed that an injection would suit me better and I am now waiting for an appointment for this to take place.

I have most certainly placed this doctor on the same standing as my cardiologist at the same hospital who also takes the time to consider the best course of action for me.

I am indeed grateful that the Royal Berkshire hospital has attracted staff of this high calibre to lead their respective departments.
