What I liked
I'm writing about the RFH Travel Clinic which I visited today - and it's a pity it's not identified in your list of deparatments (I entered this under the closest approximation - Infectious diseases ...). Anyway, I just wanted to say that that I was mighty impressed with the Travel Clinic. The practice nurse was obviously very well informed and glad to share their intelligence - and was in any case a complete sweetie - funny, enthusiastic, sympathetic and sensitive.
I was reluctant to attend, as this is a private clinic - but I'd left it too late, I thought, to get an appointment with my GP, before travelling. However, Igot excellent advice about what I didn't and didn't need for my travels - and was also advised to return to my GP to get two treatments - one of which (Hepatitis A booster) could be administered effectively immediately before travelling, and the other which the GP pracice should have offered me several years ago (23 valent pneumococcal vaccine) and which IO clearly needed.
Amazingly, I ended up paying nothing - not even for the excellent consulation. I am so grateful for this excellent service - and would recommend it highly ... Many thanks
