My mother was admitted to Barton Ward over 3 months ago with a sickness bug and water infection, at first everything was going ok until my mother stop responding to treatment. in my opinion they operate a policy that paitents that in there opinion have no real chance of full recovery, they withdraw medicines and general care until your family are forced to come into the hospital to even bath, feed your love ones. this is down to the standards of dignity and care given from this hospital (extremly poor) i proberly think that my mother of 87 years was to expensive to treat. to anyone reading this please, make sure your mother is looked after as mine was not.... in the 3 months my mother was in she became worse not better and this can be only down to staff shortages on this ward, cleanleness of ward, food and medicine.

We were told by the discharge department that my mother was to be discharged with 6 hours notice... good practice do you think !! we have moved my mother to a private nursing home and in the 2 days she has been there i have found a dramatic improvement.

Shame on Preston Hospital, you need to show the elderly more dignity, these people made the country what is is today. if this is how you run your hospital there is no hope for any of us, i for 1 will be taking my complaint to the highest office, but proberly will not get a reply as this country is in extremly poor condition relating to the elderly care.
