"It was awful! I felt so unimportant."

About: Pontefract General Infirmary

What I liked

I have been waiting for an endocrinology appointment since 6th August 2012. I finally got one for 29th November 2012. When I got there, my appointment had been cancelled (even though I wasn't notified) because they had made the wrong appointment - they made me an appointment for the diabetic clinic, not endocrinology. I have now been told that there are no appointments until February 2013. I had to take time off work to attend the appointment in the first place. I have lost an hour of my wages which I need with it being so close to Christmas, so thanks a lot!

One good point though, the lady I spoke to at the Diabetic clinic reception was very apologetic and nice. She explained what had happened about the appointments and gave me the doctor's secretary's number to call and arrange a new appointment.

What could be improved

They could have booked my appointment correctly in the first place. They could have notified me of the cancellation.
