"Fantastic ward with outstanding staff"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

What I liked

My daughter was admitted into hospital for a chest infection, and low oxygen levels. We were admitted on ward 2 the surgical ward for children. My daughter spent four days on the ward.

I can honestly say with my hand on my heart that ward 2 is an excellent ward with very good staff. The nurses, healthcare assistants, student nurse and the even the consultants were all fantastic. The 4 days I spent on the ward was difficult for me and my daughter. My daughter being ill, and myself trying to support my daughter in this difficult time. However even though it was a hard time, the staff supported us more than anything. They were so well trained and professional how they carried out they cares in every aspects. The staff work so well together and have a very good team. They always have a smiles on there faces and are so so welcoming. I have never seen such a lovely and relaxed ward, than ward 2. They all work very hard and support each other. The ward was all so very clean and tidy, the domestic staff do a great job with the cleaning and maintaining to the highest standard. They are also very friendly and hard working they should be very proud of themselves. I have been in the care profession myself over 10 years. My main job is a carer in a care home but I have done shifts in the hospital. Many wards I have worked, and many different health professions, nothing at all compares to the excellence of ward 2. I actual envy ward and there relationship with each, working in the care home and I have never been able to work in a team as ward 2 staff work. I would like to say a big thank you to ward. And you all do a brilliant job, and should very honoured to be working on such a beautiful ward.

Anything else?

What to say a special thank you to the nurses, you are very good nurses and do an excellent job

Hello, first of please accept my sincere apologies that you did not get a response at the time. This was due to a technical problem which means some posts were not appearing in our feed. We only became aware of this recently and are working with NHS Choices to put this right.

We do value all the feedback we get and take it seriously, and I am very sorry you have had this delay in hearing from us.

Thank you for your fantastic and detailed feedback, it will mean a great deal to the staff. We always emphasise that you can learn from positive feedback as well as negative as it reminds us of what matters to people and how sometimes the 'little' things can mean a lot. I am glad you had such a good experience of care with us, which is what we want for all our patients.
