"disgusted"

About: Sandwell General Hospital

What I liked

there is no positive feedback

What could be improved

dirty wards

poor communication between staff

when we questioned our childs care we were ignored

they gave a 16 month old toddler a adult knife and fork to eat with

forgot to give lunch one day (thank god we never left her alone)

waited unduly for pain relief and told doctor would be back soon (2 hours later)

we had to insist on her stay as they wanted the bed and told us to take her home (we refused) and lucky we did as she was back on a drip 3 hours later.

we were then labeled as (moaner's) we heard a nurse say this to another member of staff just because we demanded proper care for our 16 month old child

we had to find a cleaner and request for the room to be cleaned considering she was in isolation i would have expected high levels of cleanliness

the list is endless

i am surprised and appalled that this hospital passed a CQC inspection

Anything else?

i intend on making a full formal complaint at the care or lack of care our child recieved

I was saddened to read of your concerns about your child's care. I note that you intend to make a formal complaint, which we will of course investigate thoroughly. If you wish you can email your complaint to swbh.complaints@nhs.net. John Adler, Chief Executive.
