"Outstanding hospital from a very grateful patient."

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

What I liked

I was admitted for a total gastrectomy on Nov 14 Th. the operation went to plan and was put on the HDU for a couple of days then moved on to ward 11. (For people who do not know what the op entails its a total removal of the stomach.)

The treatment by doctors and staff was outstanding I cannot praise them enough, I am certain that due to there care and compassion and expertise I was given that I was able to be discharged by Nov 20 Th. Just 6 days later .

The reason I had the operation was that I had stomach cancer ,hopefully this is the beginning of a future that at the beginning of the year was not an option.

I could go on about the way I was treated , all I can say is many thanks to all of you from myself and family you did me proud and your good selves.

What a Christmas present X

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices / Patient Opinion website regarding your care on HDU and Ward 11 and we are pleased that your operation was a success. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff as it is good to receive positive feedback from patients and their families which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff. It was reassuring to hear that you felt involved in the decisions made about your care and that you were comfortable in the environment to the extent that you would be willing to recommend our services. We can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to both wards and the staff involved.
