"Hospital food dry and rock hard"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

During recent ENT day surgery at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent. After coming round from surgery I was given a cheese sandwich by hospital staff.

The sandwich was really dry and rock hard, it was like eating a brick sandwich. I had to drink water to actually be able to swallow it. I had to chew it so much it made my recently operated on ear bleed quite badly. This was terrible food.

Thank you for raising your concern about the quality of food whilst you were in hospital.

I can confirm that our new catering service is currently being rolled out across all of our hospital sites. We anticipate that the food quality at WHH will improve with the new service and menu.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
