"Happy with my knee replacement op"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had a total knee replacement in 2005.

The surgery went well but I had DVT and because the warfarin levels fluctuated so much I was in for 28 days.

In total my care in that time was excellent from all members of staff including physios and occupational therapists.

Many thanks for posting your positive comments on the patient opinion website. I will ensure the department is made aware of your kind comments. We hope that Tameside Hospital remains your hospital of choice in the future.

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
