"Grateful for Tiverton minor injuries unit"

About: Tiverton and District Hospital / Minor injury unit

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter fell down the stairs at 5.15pm on Thursday evening and complained that her ankle hurt. By 5.45pm I realised that it was more painful than a normal fall and drove the 5 minutes to Tiverton Hospital MIU.

She was seen by 6.15pm but as the Xray department was shut was unable to have an Xray that evening. We were home by 6.30pm and went back to Tiverton Hospital at 9.30am the next morning, where she had an Xray to rule out any fracture. We were home again by 10.45am.

I was so grateful to have been able to access help at the MIU in Tiverton, rather than having to drive for 35 minutes to the hospital in Exeter, where we would probably have had to spend most of Thursday evening.
