"Miscarriage - did I do anything wrong?"

About: Western Infirmary/Gartnavel General / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I went to the Western on monday and tuesday with bleeding but it was mild.

Then i woke up this morning at 3 in the morning and had acute pain in my stomach and i went to the toilet and had clots in my urine, so now i am very upset and don't know what to do.

I was told to go home and ride it out but i cant stop thinking if i did anything wrong.

I am so sorry to read about what's happened to you and how helpless you are feeling.

At this moment I am very concerned about your health and well being and would really encourage you to seek some medical help and attention right away.

You can do a number of things;

Contact your GP by phone or go along to the surgery;

Phone NHS 24 on this number 08444242424;

or go directly to your nearest A&E department. I think making this contact is a priority for you just now.

When you feel ready we'd be happy to know what you felt about the service you received.

I hope you feel able to get in touch to get some help and support

yours,

Toby Aslam Mohammed, Head of Nursing Practice Development, Acute Services Division
