This week we took an old lady to Heatherwood Minor Injuries. She had not visited the GP for 30 years and is quite difficult with lots of issues.
She is very arthritic and has developed sores on both legs. The receptionist dealt very nicely with us and we saw a nurse, Linda, who was WONDERFUl.
She talked to the lady, dressed her legs and spoke to the practice nurse and made an appointment for her to change the dressings next week.
This has opened up the way forward and will have made an enormous difference to the lady's wellbeing.
In the last few days I have read and heard so much about the need for nurses to improve etc. All I can say is that Linda would have scored 100% on all 'C' s and could be a diplomat too!
