What I liked

I attended Accident and Emergency on the 11th of November with a personal problem that I felt rather embarrassed about. Everything was done by the staff to put me at ease. Their level of professionalism and understanding was phenomenal.

The receptionist greeted me with a kind smile and advised me to take a seat and wait for the triage nurse. I am not going to moan or be unrealistic about the waiting times. I am aware that A&E departments are exactly that and people should wait there turn as the staff may be fighting to save a patient's life in the back.

The triage nurse was exceptionally gifted and professional. She listed to my concerns empathetically and promptly assessed my condition and commenced part of the treatment .

I then saw a kind SHO who had the same professionalism as the triage nurse she discharged me with the appropriate treatment and advice for follow up.

On my way out I head one lady who had been treated by the Nurse Practitioner who was also very satisfied with her care and treatment.

I cannot credit your department enough. They are very special hard working people who deserve more praise in these current times when some patients have unrealistic expectations or just don't know how to behave in a hospital. You really have a great team here.
