What I liked

I was grateful to have a room. The surgeon was good.

What could be improved

Listening to patients and being less defensive? Being shown where the toilets and bathrooms were. Overall, I found the team to have a lack of care. Also I needed help to put DVT stockings on after a shower.I asked a member of staff who said she's busy but would come ASAP. She never turned up. The room I was allocated wasn't clean, and I had to complain so a domestic assistant would come and sort it out.

Anything else?

I rarely seen a nurse. When concerned about low blood pressure I was told that I was obviously fit enough to go home as I'd been out for a cigarette. Btw, that was twice in 2 days. When asked if I was ok by the nurse who made the comment, she immediately denied it and became very defensive and aggressive, saying she has the right to say that! Even though she denied saying it. I immediately ordered a taxi and left. I left the hospital feeling very low and felt that my concerns were seen as whining.
