"Birth is a difficult experience but the Horton..."

About: Horton General Hospital

What I liked

Up until the week before I had been planning a delivery at another local hospital in the area, I am so so pleased that I changed my mind as my experience at the Horton was wonderful.

Having gone in for observation I then was taken for an induction for my second baby. The staff in the delivery suite were superb, the midwife that looked after me went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and happy with what was going on.

The after care when I was take to the ward was very good, although busy which they always will be they were able to give me the attention and care that I needed. It did take a little while to get discharge notes done but this was by no means something that effected my overall experience.

I would highly recommend delivering at the Horton if you would like a more personal experience than some other regional hospitals.

What could be improved

The only improvement would have been a quicker discharge. As a second time mother who had a straightforward birth I could have been discharged faster to make space for someone else.

Anything else?

Exceptional care from the staff
