"depressingly bad"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

What could be improved

I must say i agree with the previous comment about too much information on show in the waiting area of the Haematology / cancer day care out patients dept about various forms of cancers ,my husband and i feel it is unnecessary to have so much information shoved down your throat .

My husband visits the Haematology / cancer services day care outpatient unit at sunderland royal hospital every so often for treatment ,we feel most of the staff are unfriendly and are never sure what attitude to expect from them .

I know my husband is always made to feel very uncomfortable by unfriendly staff when he goes for treatment ,he always hates going for this reason and cant wait to leave .

There are one or two of the nursing staff that are very good but most are not .

Thank you for your comments, the Trust does aim to display relevant patient information in treatment areas so that patients can readily access this and find out more about their condition. The haematology outpatient department and the chemotherapy day unit are moving to new, refurbished accommodation at the end of November 2012 and your comments regarding the display of information are helpful and will be taken into account to ensure that we have the correct balance of information in the new waiting areas. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact us on corporate.affairs@chsft.nhs.uk
