"as pleasant as could be, considering the trauma"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services

Anything else?

I visited A&E due to threatened miscarriage and was immediately assessed. As I passed baby whilst in A&E, the staff were very thorough and asked for my consent to take to Pathology to be analysed for a possible reason why.

Having experienced a miscarriage before and gone to Leicester Royal Infirmary, I felt George Eliot excelled far more and made the situation a little less traumatic.

My only snag:

(1) There was a minor breakdown in communications - not always fully aware of what would happen next ... but generally the staff were kind, considerate and did their upmost.

(2) Maternity Unit was unavailable to provide an ultrasound *to confirm this was a complete loss* and so I had to wait a week for the next available appointment.

I am sorry to read of your Dad's experience and hope that he is feeling much better. The events you describe are concerning and if your Dad would like to talk about these please ask him to contact PALS on (024) 7686 5550. Regards Christine Longstaff, Head of Patient Partnership
