"My mothers care in the last months of her life"

About: Northern General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

The terrible end of my mothers life will stay with me forever.

I feel she was treated in a disgusting way in the Northern General Hospital at Sheffield.

Myself and my sister sat with my mother for hours every single day (we never failed once not to visit every day as we did not trust the care she received)

We saw bad practices happening daily in both nursing homes and Hospitals. I sent several sheets of complaints to the hospital, but every thing was denied and we feel we were told a pack of lies about the incidents, as we witnessed them.

In the nursing home my mothers clothes were lost, also her hearing aids and teeth. My mother fell and broke her hip. and she still had a broken hip when she died in agony six months later.

No one should have to die the way my mother died at the age of 95. She was such an independent person, still cooking and cleaning until she was 93.

We had to fight for my mother all through her illness and got nowhere.

God help the poor old folk who have no one.
