"Fantastic care for my daughter in A&E"

My Daughter who is 3 was seen by two wonderful nurses who I feel should be representative of the skills required for dealing with vulnerable, frightened patients.

The female nurse who dealt with us initially used a range of interventions to build rapport and reassure my child (who was very frightened and is very determined!). Her caring attitude and communication couldn't be faulted. She enlisted the help of a male nurse who was equally amazing to remove my child's bandages (that she was refusing to be removed). They were creative and adaptable with their approach whilst carrying out the intervention.

I cannot thank them enough for their approach, a vast contrast to the approach I received from a practice nurse in my local GP surgery. They have definitely restored my faith healthcare professionals.

I feel professionals like these should be used to benchmark the approach of others.
