My Care started after the delivery of my first child. I was referred to see the Matrons after a traumatic birth experience and we discussed my notes & helped me understand what happened and why. I was also advised of what sort of care I could expect should I have another child, a detailed birth plan and one to one care was offered and I had several meetings with the Hospital team over the 2 years between having my first and falling pregnant with my second. Once I had fallen pregnant my care was outstanding. I had shared care between midwives, consultants & The amazing Denise Newman who had been looking after me since May 2010.
The wards are extremely busy & you can tell that at times, but the majority of the staff are fantastic. the ANDU staff are always welcoming & encouraging you to come in if you have any worries what so ever. The night staff are fantastic on Rusper ward. The entire surgical team who delivered my baby really made the whole thing as calm and positive as possible & explained everything to me in great detail. Denise held my hand the whole way through & it was such a lovely thing for her to be there with us after helping us for so long. The infant feeding team are the very best & they, along with denise, made my stay in hospital a very good experience & really helped me, they all went way beyond the call of duty & I will be eternally grateful to them all. The Catering ladies are very friendly & look after you very well too.
for such a busy unit, I was made to feel very welcome & very cared for by the above mentioned people.
