I have a rotator cuff injury, waited a week to see the GP, referred to the Sheffield shoulder pain website for an exercise video! No improvement after 2 weeks so self referred to Physio, 2 week wait for Telephone triage. Then 3 week wait for triage/assessment. In real pain, cannot sleep at night, taking anti inflammatory & pain killers every day and waking two or three times every night to take more pain killers.
I am amazed that have to go through through three expensive gate-keepers to get the right care. Why not strip them out and put the money into delivering services?
