"Unhappy with my mother's care"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My mother has been admitted 5 times to East Surrey Hospital.

I feel the care has been non-existent, and the staff I met were non-caring. They seemed to be more interested in reading emails than their patients.

Response from Eloise Clarke, Communications Manager, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust

Dear 'very sad'

I am also very sad to read your comment. I see your mother has had multiple admissions but there is very little information on which we can investigate. I am very sorry that this has been your mother's experience of our service and a Lead Nurse would like to meet with you to discuss your concerns. Please can I ask you to contact Helen Lawrence on helen.lawrence@sash.nhs.uk with your telephone or email details so she can arrange to talk to you about this. (Please copy in myself eloise.clarke@sash.nhs.uk or call me if you prefer on 01737 768511 ext 6844).

I hope we can reach a point where you feel your mother is getting the level of care she deserves and we expect our patients to receive, and we can alleviate any concerns you have. And in the meantime, I hope your mother is comfortable.

Hope to hear from you soon
