About: Derriford Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat Royal Eye Infirmary / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I have always been very satisfied with the care I have received as a patient at Derriford. (More parking spaces would be appreciated please).

As someone who lives in Cornwall there are nearer hospitals that I could be treated at. Out patient appointments for e. g. hearing tests, etc would be easier. Your staff have kindly arranged this for me. I would particularly like to thank Mrs Brooks for arranging appointments for my son and myself on the same afternoon, which was so much easier than separate trips up from Cornwall to Derriford for spinal appointments.

I know this is not always easy! I would also like to say how much I appreciate the care given by the Royal Eye Infirmary. I have received treatments and operations for detached retina and cataracts and laser treatment for glaucoma, and at 84 I can still read small print. I truly feel that miracles do still happen. Long live the Royal Eye Infirmary and Derriford Hospital! Thank God for the NHS, but especially for the doctors and nurses!

I was so pleased to read that the staff at the Trust were able to coordinate your appointments which enabled you to travel to Plymouth less often. I have shared your comments with the teams involved and passed on your thanks. They will be extremely grateful to know that the care they have delivered has been appreciated.
