What I liked
I have had to use the facilities of this hospital many times and still am. The trained staff and surgeons go beyond the realms to give first class care and I am truly grateful. When I needed emergency treatment, the standard of care was exemplary. The wards are extremely clean and any areas needing emergency cleaning , were done so quickly. The hand gels are always full and if one becomes empty, they are replaced quickly. The standard of food is first class, looks appetising and tastes as good as it looks.
The plastics dressing clinic is first class and the nurses are a credit to the hospital.
What could be improved
Having been on a plastics ward, I feel that the staff are wearing more and more jewellery, and leaving hair loose and due to the nature of the treatment , I feel this should be rapidly improved upon. Some of the junior nursing assistants are not considerate to the needs of post op patients. A person who has had major surgery, is really unable to wash themselves without some help and a bowl dumped in front of you, is not good enough. I had to physically ask for help from a senior person, to be able to wash properly. As a nurse myself, I find this very poor
Anything else?
I feel I have been blessed to have been able to be treated here. The standard of expertise and of the finer details, is a far higher standard than other units I have knowledge of and I always recommend the hospital to others
"Extremely high standard of surgery and first class..."
