What I liked
My operation was sorted out very quickly, I was in little pain and the day surgery ward was clean with many staff
What could be improved
I was told about my miscarriage in a corridor with many other people present and there was a mix up with my notes.
When I came into have my operation to remove the missed miscarriage i was given a tablet to soften the neck of my womb and then 5mins later was told that they couldn't confirm from my notes that I'd had a miscarriage!! As you can imagine that was not news I needed to hear at that point! This happened because my notes hadn't been kept updated.
To top it off I was assured that any antinatal appointments that had previously been booked for me would be cancelled by the hospital. About 2 months later I received a call from the midwife asking why I hadn't turned up to my appointment! I had to explain that I had lost my baby!
I feel I have been so incredibly let down by Queens hospital and treated with little dignity and respect that I certainly wont be going there for any appointments now that I am pregnant again! I would rather the 30-40mins drive to a hospital that can give me the care I deserve.
You need to improve communication between the EPU and maternity ward.
