"Excellent care from a wonderful team"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

What I liked

I brought my son into the Beacon Centre on Sat. 13th Oct as he had a very high temp, sore throat and vomiting. The lady on the desk was very helpful and he was seen by a GP in under half an hour. It was decided that my son needed IV antibiotics and temp. control as he had severe tonsilitis and we were sent up to the childrens' ward. A nurse saw us coming out of the lift as my son was being sick so she kindly went off to fetch him a wheelchair. He was treated like a prince on the childrens' ward and was quite upset about having to leave the next afternoon!

Every member of staff we encountered, from the A & E receptionist to the consultant on the ward was courteous, professional and above all kind. Thanks from us to all of you.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post the positive feedback regarding both the Beacon Centre and Children's & Adolescent Services. Your comments have been shared with the teams and I am sure they will be pleased to receive this positive feedback.

We are pleased that you found the environment clean, and staff helpful to the point that you son was treated like a prince, as this is the high service we strive for.

The Trust appreciates receiving all comments from patients / carers as it is this valuable feedback that allows us to improve our services where necessary.
