"Long and uncomfortable."

About: St Mary's Hospital (Manchester)

What I liked

Nothing about this hospital was right.

What could be improved

The hole AnE waiting time the seats are metal and no beds for people who need them.

Anything else?

My 14 week pregnant girlfrindand was bleeding and in very bad pain to the point of being sick 7 times in AnE she was left on a hard chair in the waiting area. So I told her to ask for a side room. She got one after asking twice and crying, then was left in there for 6 Hours there a doctor came and told her she will be moved to a different bed where she will spend the night as this is now 1am she was taken there by a nice porter then left at another reception where she was told this is like another AnE and she could be here for up to 4 hours. The doctor also has no people skills I would not recommend this so called hospital to anyone due to the visit!

I was very sorry to learn of your experience via the NHS Choices website about your girlfriend’s attendance at our Accident & Emergency. It is very difficult to respond to the specific concerns you have raised without being able to investigate in detail. We take all issues surrounding patient care very seriously and would very much like to hear from you directly about this. If you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 1061 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk they will be happy to discuss this with you.

For future information, please note that all pregnant women can attend Saint Mary’s Emergency Service directly 24/7 and do not need to attend the main A&E.
