"Poor"

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

What I liked

Friendly staff but see "Other Comments"

What could be improved

See Other Comments

Visit Time for this perhaps should be from November 2011 through to August 2012. Visits may be over many months.

Anything else?

Cousin had a stay in Buckland Ward and can empathise with other people regarding poor “care” which include many things such as:-

Inept attitude to “Patient Care” (Staff friendly but did not seem to do their job properly).

Lack of medication management

Loss of drug charts and blood samples.

Not answering “Patient Call Buttons”.

Night nurses loudly chatting and not responding to patients needs.

Ward cleanliness.

Blood stained sheets not changed.

Not concerned about “Patient” hygiene. Didn’t wash him even though he was at times too ill and could not manage to do it himself.

Nurses different views of “infection control”

Assisting patients with eating their food. Never helped him with his food even though at times he was unable to feed himself.

Inappropriate food

Have “procedures” in place but do not appear to instigate/follow.

Conclusion

Letter on its way once Brian has vetted.

Hopefully as Bob Dylan used to sing “Times They Are A-Changin”
