"Excellent service in the Eye Care Centre"

About: Leighton Hospital

What I liked

I attended with my son who had an appointment in the Retina Clinic. We were advised on the appointment letter that the appointment could take up to three hours due to tests needed and having drops. We were in the Eye Care Centre for 1.5 hrs and staff were very efficient in keeping patients informed about a delay that occurred.

The doctor was very thorough in his examination and explanations for my son and gave him clear information on what symptoms to be aware of and what to do next.

What could be improved

It is a long time to sit and wait and the area would benefit from a television or radio and some magazines for patients.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comment on NHS choices. I am pleased to hear that you were happy with the care you received in the Eye Care Centre. As you pointed out, some patients do need to wait in the department for a little while and your suggestion of a television or radio and magazines is certainly something to consider. I will feedback your suggestion to the Manager in the Eye Care Centre. Best wishes, Sally Mann, Lead Nurse.
