What I liked

My daughter just turned 16 was treated as a young adult and had everything explained to her in full. Checking with me to ensure all was ok. It was the first time she was expected to sign her own consent form and the whole minor treatment and consent procedure was explained in full. The staff were helpful and compassionate. Since then we have received a lovely letter to say that everything is OK but if there are any further problems to contact them again.

What could be improved

Booking in. I understand the hospital is undergoing some major refurbishment but the check in area is not good and very slow. The hospital could learn from university hospital north staffs where the sefl check out area is fantastic

Thank you for your kind feedback, the Clinical Lead and Service Manager for the Dermatology Service have been informed and will pass your comments on to all staff.

At this current time the Hospital is undergoing significant building work for the long term improvement in patient care. As a result some areas have been temporarily located to support the necessary daily activities taking place. We ask that patients bear with us through this upheaval and hope that disruption is kept to a minimum. The Outpatient department has looked at the self serve check in facilities that are being used in other hospitals and this will definitely be considered in the long term when our Outpatient department can be refurbished.
